With a foundation built on developing college and pro-level baseball athletes at X2’s Concord facility, the team has expanded into the Lake Norman area. Founders of X2 Lake Norman, Josh Knipp and Dan Griffin, saw an opportunity to bring the same high standards, advanced tools, and proven baseball methods to younger athletes—creating a space in Huntersville focused on youth development.

Dan, a former Niagara University pitcher drafted by the San Francisco Giants, found his passion for coaching early on. He connects easily with kids, using clear, simple language to build confidence and teach technique. “He creates the building blocks,” says Josh, “communicating well to all ages and skill levels.”
Josh brings the business mindset. A Cornelius-based lawyer and former Case Western Reserve University baseball player, he launched KHG Sports Management and co-founded X2 Concord. He combines his business acumen with his passion for the game to help drive X2’s success.

X2 Lake Norman offers individual, group, and team lessons, seasonal camps, and advanced tools like Rapsodo, Hack Attack Junior, and Blast Motion. Lessons are structured but adaptable—keeping kids engaged while refining form and sharpening performance. Memberships range from 30-minute sessions to full tech-based packages.

“At X2, it’s not just about what players do on the field—it’s about how they grow off it,” Dan explains. “Here they can enhance their skills, unlock their talent, and fall in love with the game.”
X2 has built its reputation through word of mouth, thanks to a supportive atmosphere, a growth mindset, and real results.
