Success on the Spectrum

After a chance meeting, I circled back and caught up with Jessica Dufresne, co-CEO and co-owner of Success on the Spectrum – Lake Norman (SOS) in Cornelius, a franchise dedicated to providing treatment for children on the spectrum.

As she walked me through her new space, I could feel her enthusiasm. This isn’t just a business for her—it’s a mission to make a real difference for children on the spectrum and their families.

SOS provides ABA therapy, the gold standard for autism treatment, for children and young adults ages 18 months to 18 years. Enrollment is available through insurance with an autism diagnosis.

What to Expect at Success on the Spectrum

Once enrolled, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), who also serves as the clinical director, will assess each child and develop a personalized treatment plan.

That plan is then carried out by Registered Behavioral Technicians (RBTs), who work one-on-one with each child throughout the day.

“We also offer occupational and speech therapy,” says Jessica. “By bringing these services to our facility, parents and guardians don’t have to take their kids out for appointments, keeping the child’s day uninterrupted.”

Quarterly field trips provide kids with one-on-one ABA therapy in real-world settings like grocery stores and restaurants, building life skills for both children and parents.

Parents and Family

SOS also supports parents both at the center and in their homes. “I wanted a space that felt welcoming for clients, families, and staff,” says Jessica—and she’s achieved just that. The parent viewing room offers a cozy place to relax, connect, and observe via video cameras. Parents build strong bonds, and friendships blossom among the children.
